The Civic Activity Center Matara is a place that offers a versatile range of services.
The Matara lobby is open to everyone. There you can read the daily newspaper, surf the net or just spend some time. Events open to the public are also held regularly in the lobby. Multicultural Center Gloria is also located next to the lobby. Gloria offers different multicultural services and activities. There are about 30 different organizations in the Matara community and they offer a wide range of services and opportunities for e.g. volunteer activity.
Matara offers affordable meeting facilities for versatile needs as well as office rooms for organizations.
Matara strengthens civic and voluntary activities as well as the working conditions of organizations. The objective of the Civic Activity Center is to enhance co-operation between organizations, educational institutions and the public sector.
The organizations in Matara hold extensive knowledge of organization-, project-, education-, volunteer and peer-work. Matara also works with organizations and foundations outside the Center.

Matara is administered by Keski-Suomen Yhteisöjen Tuki ry / KYT ry (NGO Support in Central Finland) and funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health with profits from Veikkaus. The city of Jyväskylä also funds the activity.
